RULES FOR INVENTIONS

Convention Directory
If it already exists, can be bought or found in a store, is produced
by a company now or in the past, then it cannot be used as an invention.
1. THE INVENTION SHOULD BE AN ORIGINAL PRODUCT
It may be an improvement on an already existing one.
2. A
DISPLAY (SEE BELOW) MUST BE CREATED.
Board & Model
3. A DETAILED DRAWING WITH LABELED PARTS
Use a ruler or skills learned in drafting to make a NEAT and CLEAN
drawing that looks similar to the actual invention.
4. A WRITTEN EXPLANATION IS TO BE PLACED ON THE DISPLAY.
There does NOT need to be a notebook and separate report.
(Maximum 2 pages, minimum size 14 font)
A. The name of the invention
B. What the invention does
C. How the idea of the invention was obtained
D. The marketing, background or patent searching done to determine
if the project already exists
E. What problem does the invention attempt to solve
F. How does the invention work
G. What materials were used to make the invention
H. What improvements could be made to make the invention better
5. A WORKING MODEL MUST CLEARLY REPRESENT THE PROPOSED INVENTION.
Make it as neat, clean and 'professional' as possible.
6. MAXIMUM SIZE AND WEIGHT OF COMBINED INVENTION AND DISPLAY ARE:
.75 m X .75 m (base) x 1 m (height) AND 35 Kilograms
(30 by 30 inches and 77 pounds for the metrically challenged)
